LUX Staff Picks for Sunday Remedies

Posted by Jennifer Grimm on

Day-after Arsenal:

If you came down for our 2nd Birthday on High Street, you know that the LUX ladies love a good party.  Last month we celebrated LUXmas in March (because hello, you keep us way too busy in December) with dinner, dancing and Denny’s.  After we crashed at 5:00 am and slept away the spins, I knew that the LUX gang would be pulling out their best Sunday remedies.  Here’s our list of hangover must-haves.-Jenn

1. Kaia Facial Cleansing Cloths

Cleanse and collapse.  These guys “remove the half sweated off makeup”, and the next morning they “get the mascara I missed washing off last night.”  We’re known to keep a pack by our beds.  Partying not required, just laziness.

2. Marvis Toothpaste

This staff staple “gets the coating off my teeth” and “washes away that morning-after mouth.”

3. Skyn Iceland Firming Eye Gels

These Hydro Cool treats were mentioned by the whole team.  We count on these eye gels to “depuff and wake me up” and “send those bags packing.” No need to sacrifice sleep waiting for them to work:  “I go back to bed with the eye patches on… once the goodness has been absorbed, they just fall off!”

4. 100% Pure Organic Sea Therapy

Adding these dried kelp crystals to your tub will “help expel the deamons (toxins) from the night before while soothing muscles sore from dancing the night away.”  Splash in the Eucalyptus or Lavender Vapour Bath for an aromatherapeutic soak.

5.  John Masters Organics Lavender Haircare

You’re having a rough morning: take opportunities to be kind to yourself throughout your routine.  Lavender & Rosemary Shampoo and Lavender & Avocado Conditioner “soothe my headache and wash last night’s party out of my hair”.  Lavender “is calming.  Wards off nausea, too.”

6.  Love and Toast Clementine Crush Shower Creme

If you don’t have time for a long soak (or it’s day two and you’re still feeling ragged), this just-plucked body wash “wakes me up after too few hours of sleep.”

7. Bumble and bumble Sunday Shampoo

We count on this under-rated wonder to save our “poor over-styled, over-hairsprayed, bar-mauled hair.”  An 80’s party proved the ultimate test, converting a “crimped, teased and lacqued monstrosity” back to our healthy modern locks with just one wash.

8. Jack Black Dragon Ice Relief & Recovery Balm

Take down the ache by reducing inflammation, soothing strain, stimulating immune defence, and supporting the body’s optimal healing process.  We each slathered our feet after last month’s nine hour Birthday bash workday.  Good for “sore, bruised (where do those come from, anyway?!?) drunk legs”, too.

9. John Masters Organics Vitamin C Anti-Aging Face Serum

Step 1: Look in mirror and gasp in alarm at your grayish hue, blotchy skin, sunken cheeks.  Step 2: Sweep on JMO Vitamin C Serum over freshly cleansed (prefereably with a Clarisonic) skin.  Step 3: Admire change in mirror, “give praise for this product’s existance.”

10. Skyn Iceland Cloud Creme and the Antidote Quenching Lotion

You don’t need us to tell you that after a night like that, your body is begging for moisture.  Our oily-skin likes how the Antidote “soothes and rehydrates”, plus the “peppermint is cooling and feels good on my face”.  Our drier-skin relies on Cloud Cream to “hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.”

11. Jack Black Lip Balm

All that drinking and glossing and dancing and snogging has sucked every bit of water from your lips.  This crowd favourite makes them feel “instantly plump and soft and less.. withered”.

12. 100% Pure Organic Cucumber Eye Cream Gel

This lightweight potion “tightens, depuffs, and livens me up”.  When we’re extra worse for wear, we’ll take a minute to put it in the freezer first.  This “makes my bags instantly de-puff, plus the cold feels so good!”

13. Stila Perfecting Concealer

You’re hydrated, soothed, cooled, cleansed and freshened.  Finish it off with this “must-have to hide dark circles and next-day breakouts.” Now take your beautiful self and go face the day uh, late afternoon.
